  • *5ml baking powder
  • *5ml bicarbonate of soda
  • 100g almonds or pecans, finely chopped
  • 20ml ALL GOLD melon & ginger jam
  • 1 egg
  • 375ml flour, sifted
  • 5ml ginger, powdered
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation method

Sauce: beat the sugar and the margarine together until light and fluffy, then add the egg. Mix until smooth. Add the flour, milk mix, nuts, ginger, and ALL GOLD melon & ginger jam and mix. Spoon into a greased baking dish. Make the sauce by mixing the sugar and the boiling water together. Use the back of a spoon to pour over the batter. Do not mix. Bake in pre-heated oven at 160°c for 25-30 minutes or until done. *to be dissolved in 250ml milk.

Serving suggestion

Serve hot with fresh cream or custard.
